@snowyowl: It's, uh, not a scarf. Which kind of insinuates that it isn't as well-drawn as you're implying. It's a sailor uniform.

If I actually had shapeshifting powers, I would definitely do this. I'd go to anime conventions shapeshifted into my favourite characters and I'd win all the anime convention prizes because no costume could be better than actually being the character. It'd be awesome.

Actually, I would probably donate my powers to science. I'd cut off my arm and then regenerate it with said powers, then I'd give the spare arm to scientists and they would figure out how shapeshifting works and duplicate it for the good of humanity. Assuming my powers worked on a cellular level and not as some kind of mental ability, and also assuming that cutting off my arm doesn't disable the powers in either said arm or myself. If it were a mental ability, I'd have to do lots of electroencephalogram tests to determine how the powers work. Maybe I could produce a duplicate of my brain with the powers and then run the tests on that.

Although, if my powers allowed me to produce duplicates like that they'd be breaking the first law of thermodynamics, unless they required me to eat a lot to provide the necessary energy. If that were the case it'd be awesome since I not only could eat enormous quantities of ice cream, I would have to eat enormous quantities of ice cream. Or perhaps I could access additional mass from a pocket dimension where necessary, or something along those lines; that would also solve the issue, but wouldn't entail my eating enormous quantities of ice cream, so it's not as attractive a solution. The only danger I foresee is that the powers might require me to consume extreme quantities of biomass such that I'm forced to absorb random people on the street like Alex Mercer. Not pleasant.

Oh, and I would shapeshift myself some wings capable of sustained human flight. And Wolverine-esque adamantium claws. Y'know, all the cool stuff. Maybe I'd shapeshift some giant robots too. Although actually being a giant robot instead of piloting one might be kind of weird. Still, if I were capable of shapeshifting I suppose I would acclimatise to weird stuff pretty quickly.

Of course, all of that would require me to have shapeshifting powers. I'm pretty certain I do not. :(

Transforming into the inspiration for several of the character attributes of your version of Trope-tan... yes, I can see how that might irritate her. Nyoro.

Edit: Your scarf is much better drawn than mine ^-^

Oh... Oh, right! I'd never seen a sailor suit before, so I didn't have anything to compare it to. That makes more sense.
It's still better drawn though.

Transcript:

Fred: Another party? Excellent.
The Author: Welcome, everyone! Leave your coats by the door.
Actually, leave them on! They're a key component of your artistic appearances.

Trope-tan: So, what's your mokuromi for this party?
We somehow get megas drunk on completely nonalcoholic fruit punch and dance to really catchy songs again?
The Author: Close, but not quite.

The Author: You see, this time the party is a *costume* party.
Bob: Fantastic. Why?
The Author: Mostly because I wanted an excuse to make all of you perform cameos.

Jane: If that's the case, where's *your* costume?
The Author: I'm not wearing it yet, duh.
Jane: Why ever not?

The Author: Because my costume is so awesome that the readers wouldn't recognise me if I showed up already costumed.
Fred: Ah. You're going to shapeshift with Author powers, aren't you?
The Author: Precisely!

Authorpowertransformationsound!

Trope-tan: You just *had* to toru Tsuruya-san.
The Author: But of courthe, nyoro!
