Okay, I'm pretty sure this isn't the future. This doesn't make any sense. Explain.

There are three reasons that this won't stop them for long. (a) This is a time travel storyline. (b) Their past selves are arriving in the next comic. (c) This is a time travel storyline.
I know I said one of those twice, but I thought it was such a good point that it deserved emphasis.
I don't believe I've said this yet, but I really like the frequent art changes as a way to keep track of things.

Transcript:

Jane: Urgh….

Jane: Where… where are we?
Trope-tan: We have two tones of grey. Not exactly the most helpful background.

Trope-tan: Although that large red door is a much more helpful indication.
Jane: We're back here? Again?
Trope-tan: Ikkaku!

Jane: Perhaps we have to do something important in the past to get the plot holes sealed?
Trope-tan: We have bigger mondai than plot holes right now.

Jane: Woah, what happened to the GIGAHERTZ?
Trope-tan: According to cursory kitsumon…

Trope-tan: … the dimensional distortion diode depolarised due to saturation energy overload, inducing a flash achronal narrativium burst at shuffled coordinates.

Trope-tan: The resulting explosion inverted the dimensional compensation coefficient, misaligning the telematrix and rupturing the collation capacitor, thereby enforcing a state of chronality.
Concatenate the preceding explanation with an arbitrarily selected and egregiously overused Japanese word which actually has little meaning when used under English grammar.

Jane: Um, what?
Trope-tan: It looks like it went boom, sent us back in time, and stopped working, desu.
Jane: Ah.
