Author Notes:

Ah, xkcd and The Order Of The Stick. xkcd is utterly brilliant /(nerd)|(geek)|(whichever of these words isn't actually a derogatory term)/ incarnate, while The Order Of The Stick (OotS) is "The Way Of The Metagamer" but without being crappy and uninteresting.

There are several reasons for the lack of OotS parody. First, we have the same art style, and it may not be clear that there's a difference. Second, OotS is plot-based, and a one-panel joke would not work at all. Unlike xkcd, OotS isn't released under Creative Commons, and I am not a lawyer. Finally, I miscounted the number of panels when planning the script and found I didn't actually have room for the OotS parody-panel.

why is nobody commenting on these comics? This one is awesome in its stealingness from other better comics and everyone should love it for its audacity and mild creativity.

The bit about the element?

Mystery Science Theater 3000
Dada da da (da da, da da da da) Dada da da...

Joel: Welcome back. Now we've had a discussion on online safety-
Tom/Crow: "Check with Joel for every site, because some of them might bite."
Joel: ... yeah, that's the best mantra I could come up with. Sue me.

Joel: My robots, Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo are...
What *are* you guys doing now?

Tom: We're looking at "webcomics", Joel!
Crow: Yeah, this one called "xkcd" is great!

My Hobby: Inventing role-playing games on the most unconventional topics possible.
Megan: Okay, I've got it. The Periodic Table: The RPG. You roll a d118 to generate stats as atomic numbers.
Randall: No time for elements. We need to finish the rules for Watching Grass Grow: The Movie: The RPG.
Megan: Add in an END check every round for eye-watering.
Randall: Way ahead of you.

Tom: Take a look at this one.
It's called "The Order Of The Stick".

Joel: Something about that particular comic seems... familiar...
Tom: Yeah, almost as though...
